Forecast Server™ System Components

Produce Unsurpassed Forecast Analysis

There are three main components to a Forecast Server deployment:

  • Historical Data — Historical data can come from any source, from manual entry to SQL databases to real-time data delivery. Forecast Server deployments are very flexible and are custom made to suit whatever historical data resources you need to analyze.
  • Vanguard Forecast Server — Once the historical data is entered into the Forecast Database, it is combined with any assumptions or business knowledge entered using the Web interface and analyzed by the Forecast Engine. Forecasts are managed using the Web interface, where different forecast methods can be applied along with any adjustments or overrides, such as event modeling. Forecasts can be exported from Forecast Server to any business system.
  • Web Interface — The Web interface is used by Subject Matter Experts (SME) to add historical data manually, by Forecast Server owners to add their business knowledge and assumptions to a forecast, and by general users to make proposals for forecast changes and to generate reports.

The following diagram illustrates the Forecast Server system components and process.
