Testing Your Installation
Before you change any sever settings, it is a good idea to
test the installation. Do this by starting the server and running
a few test scripts as described below.
Starting the Server
If you installed the server so that it is automatically
started when you boot your computer, just reboot. Otherwise,
click on Start, point to Programs, DecisionScript
4.0, and click DecisionScript Server. When the server
starts, you will see a splash screen for a few seconds and then
the DecisionScript Server icon will appear in the system tray on
your task bar.
If you need to open the server to monitor traffic or change
server settings, just double click on the icon or right click to
bring up a menu of options.
Note: The server window does not need to be
open for the server to run properly. As long as you see the tray
icon, the server is running.
Running the Test Scripts
The installation program sets up a small number of example
scripts that will be fully functional as soon as you complete the
installation. To view these examples, open a Web browser on your
server computer and then type the URL
http://127.0.0.1/
or
http://127.0.0.1:port/
if you installed the server on a port other than 80.
You should see a page listing several example scripts that you
can run.
