NC Central University's School of Law Joins the Vanguard Academic Partnership Program

Vanguard System™ Helps Train Law Students in Complex Decision-Making

Cary, NC – March 21, 2007 – Vanguard Software Corporation, the leader in management systems for planning, analysis and knowledge automation, has partnered with the School of Law at North Carolina Central University through the Vanguard Academic Partnership Program. In support of their participation, Vanguard Software is donating licenses for the new Vanguard System™ and the Decision Tree Analysis Add-in to the School. The software will be used in the classroom to help train law students in complex decision-making for legal cases.

When we discuss BATNA [Best Alternative To the Negotiated Agreement], the software helps the students be more objective about their predictions of success and helps them communicate their advice to the ‘clients’ in a clear and concise manner,” said Ms. Pamela Stanback Glean, Director of Clinical Legal Education at the School of Law. “I looked at several software products before I chose Vanguard. I can create a basic decision tree to insure that every student understands the concept. I can then build on their basic knowledge and create decision trees for more complicated scenarios.”
