Senior Software Developer

Vanguard Software Corporation, a leading developer of enterprise decision support software, is seeking a highly-motivated Software Engineer to join our rapidly growing team as a Senior Software Developer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing custom Web-based decision-support applications for our clients.  Projects will run the gamut in terms of size, complexity, industry, and functional area; and, they will range from small-scale, rapid prototypes to complete Web-based decision-support applications. Projects might also include some commercial product development of our next generation software tools.

Responsibilities:

• Develop custom Web-based decision-support applications based on customer specifications
• Work closely with customers throughout project lifecycles
• Manage requirements definition, design, development, testing, deployment, and support
• Help prepare project plans and customer proposals
• Deliver high quality software applications
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• US Citizen or Green Card holder

Required Skills and Prerequisites:

• Experience with core Web development technologies (HTML, JavaScript, and CSS)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical customers
• Strong programming aptitude
• Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to work in a dynamic environment

Other Desirable Skills:

• Experience with C/C++ development
• Experience with databases and SQL
• Background in business modeling, mathematics and/or statistical analysis
